What is HeartWell?

The Specialist Health Promotion Service has established a Grants Scheme to support projects which encourage and assist groups or individuals to work on issues that can help reduce Heart disease and improve the Health & Well-Being of Children and Young People (HWCYP).

HeartWell & HWCYP is a working partnership, between Health Organisations, North East Lincolnshire Council, Local Businesses and voluntary and community groups. Bids are taken to a board meeting and discussed on a monthly basis.

Criteria

  • Monies up to £1000 can be awarded to organisations that work promoting healthier lifestyles.
  • The money can be used for developing or enhancing a project which promotes health and well being for children and young people and heart health in the community. E.g. it can be used toward training, equipment, resources or educational packages.
  • Funding will not be given for applications asking for staff time, or buying in coaches, as this isn't seen as a sustainable resource for a programme/project.
  • Groups/organisations can only apply once for the same project.
  • Groups/organisations can only apply once for funding in the same year.

The aims of HeartWell are to encourage and enable health related behaviour change, promote the availability of healthier lifestyle choices, improve and maintain the quality of life for those already affected by Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) and contribute to achieving national and local targets for reduction in CHD.

Health grants are available to support projects that promote Heart Health and the Health & Well-being of Children & Young People in NE Lincs. Any group or individual are invited to apply for funding. Support can be provided to monitor and promote your project at any stage.
